**Coronavirus Update April 2020**

Please be aware of a few changes that currently apply due to the coronavirus outbreak.

If you are collecting furniture it will be left outside my unit for you to collect (I will obviously be there at a safe distance) so please bring 2 people to lift any large items. 

Please do not touch items until you have purchased/paid for them.

I will not be allowing viewings in my unit unless you wear masks/gloves. 

We are only offering no contact ground floor, doorstep deliveries until further notice. Delivery times may be affected. All furniture that cannot be delivered immediately will be kept in a secure container and will be delivered asap. 

Please use transfer as a payment method rather than cash where possible. I will not allow any items to be taken until full payment is made. 

It may not be possible for you to sign the collection/ delivery form so if this is not possible I will write `Coronavirus` in place of your signature. 

Terms & Conditions

Please read through the following terms & conditions, they are here to safeguard you and me. 

I am a furniture enthusiast working from home, where I run my small business. My T&C are therefore a goodwill gesture & can be changed or withdrawn at any time. 

Please make sure you follow all care instructions. 


  • Children should not be left unattended with any furniture. 
  • Children should not jump or pull on furniture, some items are very heavy!! 
  • Toy Boxes are NOT toys. You will be informed on collection/delivery as to what safety catch the box has & you will be shown how to use it. Toy boxes can slam down if not properly opened so children should not be left unattended. 

Care Instructions

I use high quality products on my furniture but you must also make sure you take care of your furniture to preserve the life of the piece. 

Dixie Belle paint takes 30 days to cure. The paint is durable after this time.

*All painted furniture should be gently cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth (not soaking wet) & no cleaning products should be used. 

Spills should be cleaned up immediately with a dry cloth & not left to soak in. 


  • All orders are subject to availability
  • Prices can be changed at any time and quotes are only valid for 30 days
  • Bespoke/ Custom orders require a 50% non refundable deposit at the time of ordering to confirm your order
  • If we are carrying out any commission work on your furniture you are responsible to drop off and collect from our unit in Denmead.
  • A 50% non refundable deposit is required to reserve any stock item. Once the deposit is paid the item will be removed from sale. It will then be held for maximum 5 days, at which point you are required to collect or have delivery arranged for it. No refund will be made as we removed it from sale.
  • Stock will be held for a maximum 5 days. If the stock is not collected within this time we reserve the right to cancel the order (you lose your deposit) or we can charge storage fees of £10 per item per day.
  • You are responsible for checking that all details of your order are correct and suitable for your requirements including measurements, dimensions, product features ,access and delivery. If we attempt to make a delivery and cannot make the delivery for any reason (no answer, item doesn't fit through access) you will still be charged the delivery fee and no refund will be made on the furniture.
  • Please allow 1-2cm variance on sizes stated or given.
  • We reserve the right to refuse to serve an individual or company
  • All our furniture is pre loved, unless otherwise stated and do not come with any warranties/guarantees. Shabby Chic furniture is unique in the sense it is older, preowned, preloved furniture that has been upcycled and revamped to give it a new, beautiful lease of life. It is not brand new furniture and will no doubt show signs of its previous life. All furniture unless otherwise stated is painted and as with any paint may chip from time to time. The sealer used will not prevent scratches and all painted furniture must be taken care of. Coasters and table cloths should be used on all table tops and any marks should be wiped with a clean dry cloth immediately and not soaked.
  • If you are unhappy with any item you must contact us first to allow us to rectify or replace (if it is our fault) in line with the T&C listed below under returns 
  • The colour of items in pictures may differ slightly in person due to lighting


  • If you need to cancel your order please contact us in writing as soon as possible
  • If you cancel your order you will lose any deposit paid as per our terms & conditions.
  • If you cancel your bespoke order once work has already  been started we will continue to finish the job and you will lose your deposit and be liable to pay us the remaining amount as agreed. Your items will be returned once full payment is received. 

Delivery Details

  • Delivery charges are extra (unless otherwise stated) and must be agreed before the order is confirmed
  • Delivery charges are subject to change at any time 
  • Portsmouth £20, Southsea |£25, Fareham £25, Gosport £30, Eastleigh £30, Southampton £30 (as far as Romsey) Havant £20, Waterlooville £20, Petersfield £20, Emsworth £20, Chichester £30
  • Heavy/ large items or items requiring the larger van will be an additional £20
  • We offer a doorstep delivery service only & therefore accept no responsibility to damage caused inside the property or furniture once inside the property. 
  • If we are delivering to a flat it will be delivered to the ground floor only and you must make your own arrangements to have it collected from ground floor.
  • You must make us aware of any parking issues (no parking outside the property) if no parking is available you are responsible for collecting the items from the van
  • It is your responsibility to make sure the items you ordered will fit into the room for which they are intended, that they will fit through all access points to the room and that there is sufficient access for our delivery vehicle to reach the delivery address. 
  • If we are unable to access or make the delivery you will be charged the delivery fee and the full order amount
  • It is your responsibility to advise us of any non-standard delivery circumstances that may apply at the point of ordering. 
  • If you are unable to take delivery of your furniture on the agreed date re-delivery charges may apply and you will be responsible for paying for storage fees of  up to £10 per item per day
  • An adult must be present at the delivery address to carefully check the product and acknowledge it's in a safe and satisfactory condition. It is their responsible to check all items on delivery and report  any defects on delivery. 
  • We carry the risk of loss or damage too any products until you have received them. The products belong to you when you have received them and paid in full
  • Until full payment has been made the item rightfully belongs to me.


I accept  no responsibility for 3rd party couriers.  

I can help you arrange a 3rd party courier & book on your behalf but I am not liable for the booking or any damage/ disagreements/ missing items caused by the courier. 

  • A contact number needs to be given as couriers will give you a time & date for delivery 
  • I am not allowed to cover/ protect the items (blankets etc) when using Shiply couriers, this service is provided by the courier otherwise it invalidates their insurance 
  • They provide a 1 man service so help will be needed your end & they only deliver ground floor
  • Shiply T&C can be found here https://www.shiply.com/terms The individual couriers T&C will be sent to you as soon as I have them (if they send them) 
  • I will book the delivery on your behalf. You need to pay the driver direct. As I am not personally delivering the item I take no responsibility for the furniture once it leaves me. I take pictures/videos to show the condition it leaves me in. Any issues need to be taken up directly with the courier company. 


  • No refunds will be given unless an item is deemed damaged and unfit for repair.
  • We will not refund/ replace furniture damaged by the customer  (we take pictures/videos of the items to show the condition they leave us in) or any cosmetic imperfections expected with 2nd Hand upcycled furniture. 
  • We will only accept damaged item claims within 7 days of delivery/ collection (excluding 3rd party courier deliveries or any stock held in our unit over the standard 5 days) & faulty items within 30 days of purchase.
  • You must inform us as soon as an item becomes faulty in writing (including pictures) & not attempt to repair yourself. If you do not inform us as soon as the fault appears it can make it worst & irreparable which we will not be responsible for.  
  • No refunds will be given if a customer simply changes their mind after delivery/collection. All customers are offered the chance to view items at our unit before they are delivered. 
  • Deposits are non refundable. Once you pay a deposit we start ordering the stock in for commission pieces and remove stock from sale. Once items are removed from sale we pay to store them and lose out on other sales.
  • If a product has a defect we will first look to repair rather than replace. A replacement will only be offered if a repair isn't feasible & will be for the same value as the previous item. You must allow us sufficient time to complete the repair process which will be done at my home.
  • If you paid for delivery we will collect any faulty items. If you collected from us you will be required to bring the item back to where you collected from.
  • Any defects deemed to be caused by the customer will require an additional cost to repair including delivery/collection fees. This includes, but is not limited to, overloading drawers causing strain on drawers/runners, damaging items on collection or moving around your home, spilling items on or scratching the paint of the furniture, swinging/jumping on chairs or not following our care instructions. 


  • Collections must be made from either Denmead or Horndean at pre-arranged times. 
  • In the Autumn/winter months you are required to collect before 4pm from Denmead before it gets dark as there is no lighting. We are around during weekends if you are unable to collect before 4pm on weekdays or you can collect from Horndean. 
  • You are responsible for bringing sufficient covers to protect furniture once it leaves my unit/home & for the journey back. 
  • You are required to fully check furniture over before leaving & sign to say you are happy with the condition
  • You are responsible for bringing 2 strong people to carry furniture. If you don’t I take no responsibility for furniture getting damaged If it is too heavy for me to lift. 
  • You are responsible for bringing a large enough vehicle suitable to collect furniture & keep it protected.
  • Once you sign the collection form & start removing furniture it is your responsibility to take care of it to prevent damage loading it onto your vehicle
